Partnering Accreditation Prompted Writing Programs and Academic Writing Programs: Wedded Bliss or Marriage of Convenience?

In this project, we specifically ask, how have the writing focused Quality Enhancement Plans (QEPs) in the SACSCOC accreditation region impacted a specific institution’s writing programs (WPs)? To answer this question we plan to request that directors of writing-related QEPs as well as the WPAs (FYC, writing center, and/or WAC/WID programs) from campuses with writing-focused QEPs answer detailed questionnaires about how the QEP has impacted the WPs. From this data we hope to identify themes and trends that will provide insight into designing, implementing, and assessing writing-themed, accreditation-prompted, continual improvement projects.
